Cylinders give simultaneous positioning, clamping

Designed primarily for use in welding and sheet metal applications, a range of spatter resistant double acting cylinders enable simultaneous positioning and clamping.

When car industry experts work alongside research and development engineers from SMC Pneumatics, the world leaders in automation control, there is only one possible outcome - the perfect solution. Just one example of this on-going collaboration is SMC's latest air operated pin clamp cylinder - Series CKQ - providing simultaneous positioning and clamping. Designed primarily for use in welding and sheet metal applications, this range of spatter resistant double acting cylinders are currently available in four body type options including lock or without lock models.

With further choices of either round or diamond type guide pins, to suit hole diameters from 13mm to 25mm, their unique stainless steel construction combined with a outer coating of titanium nitrate (TiN) ensures maximum operational lifetime and increased weld spatter resistance.

Other features include the possibility of altering the height of the clamp position by up to 2mm by simply removing the shims, making last minute adjustments a straight forward exercise.

Additionally, ease of maintenance has also been recognised by the inclusion of four separate cleaning covers allowing for any weld spatter entering the cylinder to be easily removed without the need of complete cylinder dis-assembly.

Designed to operate at piston speeds of 50 to 300mm/sec, at a maximum operating pressure of 0,7MPa and within ambient fluid temperature ranges of between -10 deg to +60 deg C, these pin clamp cylinders really are the perfect solution.

Rodless cylinders' connections save space

Pneumatic rodless cylinders have flexible porting arrangements save space, by allowing up to seven different configurations of pneumatic connection.

A team of dedicated design engineers with years of experience in manufacturing and supplying pneumatic rodless cylinders have combined all of the features and benefits most demanded by industry, into the new Ultraline Range. machine builders and designers will welcome flexible porting arrangements that assist in overcoming the common problem of small space envelopes, by allowing up to seven different configurations of pneumatic connection. Accurate and easy 'end of stroke' cushioning is achieved by a precision adjustment at each end of the cylinder.

On some sizes, additional shock absorbers are often not needed, as there is an option of extended cushions.

All Ultraline Rodless Cylinders have a unique and very robust sealing arrangement that provides slow speed smooth running, low friction and extremely low leak rates when compared to competitor products on the market.

Another key feature of the cylinders is the ability to retrofit additional side carriages where extra load movement capability is needed.

The best engineering, competitive pricing and speedy delivery are the objectives met by the Ultraline team to ensure that the demands of machine builders and designers are satisfied wherever, and whenever, they need a rodless cylinder.

To assist in the selection of an Ultraline rodless cylinder to suit your application, a free of charge sizing CD is now available.

The CD is easy to use and provides step-by-step instructions on the selection program and complete 2D and 3D drawing files.

High pressure regulator gives working pressures

The self-operated, high-pressure regulator can be designed to be used in applications requiring high-pressure reducing regulators for various gases.

ControlAir announces the introduction of the Type 3500 High Pressure Regulator. This unique pressure regulator reduces inlet pressures from as high as 6000 lb/in2G (413 bar) down to working pressures ranging between 0 and 225 lb/in2G (15.5. bar).

The self-operated, high-pressure regulator can be designed to be used in applications requiring high-pressure reducing regulators for various gases.

The Type 3500 regulator can also be used where high-pressure gas must be reduced for use as pilot supply pressure in pilot-operated regulators or as loading pressure in pressure-loaded regulators.

The Type 3500 regulator provides outlet pressure to 225 lb/in2G (15.5 bar) in three spring ranges: 0-125 lb/in2G (0-8.6 bar), 0-150 lb/in2G (0-10.3 bar) and 0-225 lb/in2G (0-15.5 bar).

A choice of three output ports provides plumbing flexibility for easy hookup.

A replaceable nylon valve seat provides up to 4 replacement sealing surfaces.

The Type 3500 regulator is optionally available with a NPT female connection on the spring case for remote venting (tapped exhaust).

Socket head or tee handle adjustment is available.
