Motion, fluid control products go on-line

As the demand for online purchasing increases, Norgren, a motion and fluid control specialist, has enhanced its online web store facility to offer even more functionality.

As the demand for online purchasing increases, Norgren, the motion and fluid control specialist, has enhanced its online web store facility to offer even more functionality. The existing online purchasing facility has undergone a major makeover in response to customer feedback and is now easier to use and features new innovative tools and services. Original Equipment Manufacturers are increasing the use of electronic media to provide support for designers and engineers alike.

Competitive advantage can be achieved through the use of innovative services all targeted at cutting costs and reducing time to market.

With a new simpler, cleaner and fresher look the online facility benefits from a complete redesign that provides updated navigational features such as a new tab style menu and quick links thus ensuring speedy access to the sites main tools.

The online catalogue proves a popular stop for most sites visitors and this has been redesigned to show clearer information.

Offering real time price and availability information, the ability to track all orders however they are placed and a host of purchasing tools, the new store helps buyers and engineers get their job done more efficiently.

Lightweight, tiny valves fit in small spaces

Tiny pneumatic solenoid valves, just 10.8mm wide, can be accommodated in the smallest spaces and can be directly mounted on machine parts without compromising dynamic performance.

Just 10.8mm wide, the tiny pneumatic solenoid valves in the innovative new LS04 range from Bosch Rexroth can be accommodated in the smallest spaces, giving designers new options for responding to today's demands for ever-smaller machines. In addition, since many of the valves in the range weigh only 30g, they can be directly mounted on machine parts without compromising dynamic performance. This simplifies machine design, as well as allowing hoses to be shortened and flow losses reduced.

Developed in response to customer requests for valves combining small size and weight with reliability, maintenance-free operation and economy, LS04 valves are a product of Bosch Rexroth's unrivalled experience in specialist plastics for pneumatic applications and the latest filigree plastics manufacturing technology.

The new LS04 valves are available in three versions.

LS04XS types are, at 57.7 x 10.8 x 45mm, the smallest in the range.

They are suitable for flow rates up to 200 litre/min, and are offered in 5/2-way versions that cover most common applications.

For higher flow rates, up to 330 litre/min, and where alternative functions are needed, Bosch Rexroth offers LS04AF valves.

Measuring 76.2 x 10.8 x 60mm, these are only fractionally larger than the XS versions, but can be supplied in double 3/2-way versions as well as 5/2-way versions.

The third version of the LS04 valves is used in compact LS04 valve terminal systems which are an ideal choice where an integrated multi-valve solution is preferred.

With a height of only 45mm and a maximum flow rate of 320 litre/min, LS04 valve terminals systems can provide up to 24 monostable valve positions.

Electrical connections to all of the valves in the assembly are made via a single D-sub multiple plug, and the pilot air supply is also common to all valves.

All Rexroth LS04 valves feature secure push-in connections which substantially cut assembly time, and all are suitable for use with either oiled or oil-free air supplies.

Their low-consumption solenoids are designed for operation from 24V DC supplies, ensuring full compatibility with modern automation systems.

Electrical connections for XS and AF valves use standard rectangular or M8 round connectors, and all versions incorporate an LED which provides instant visual confirmation of valve status.
